Meet the Beyers

We are a young family deeply rooted in the Sausalito community. We are attempting to renovate and expand our home so our  three little kids can grow up here and become the future for this wonderful salty town.

Georgia and Jake Beyer have been living in Sausalito since 2016. Originally, they rented a small 1 bedroom apartment on Johnson Street, where they fell in love with this salty community. They purchased and moved into 426 Pine Street in 2017. Now, 3 kids and 6 years later, they consider it their forever home.  They love the ocean, are avid sailors and cyclists and are committed to emparting their sense of environmental stewardship to their kids.

Jake and Georgia are enthusiastic about public education and are excited to send the 3 kids to the newly formed local public school Dr. MLK Academy for K through 8th grade.

Jake

Jake has spent the last decade working in tech from seed series to publicly traded companies at the intersection of customers, design, engineering, and business. Jake grew up on a lake in Cazenovia, NY. A small town near the finger lake region with a population of about 7,000 people. As a son of a freelance watercolor painter and a product designer, his upbringing was filled with creative projects from within the wood shop, metal shop, and through restoring classic cars and many fixer-upper Victorian homes. During high school he worked on a sheep farm.

Jake sits on the Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee for the City of Sausalito and the Safe Routes to School Task Force working to make our streets safer for pedestrians and cyclists, particularly children commuting to the local schools. Jake is an avid runner, cyclist, swimmer, and the occasional triathlon. He loves running and cycling in the headlands, Tennessee Valley, and Tamarancho. And he loves cold water swimming in the bay at the Dolphin Club in San Francisco.

Georgia

Georgia grew up in the small island community of Jamestown, Rhode Island.  She spent her childhood playing in Narragansett Bay and sailed competitively all through high school and college. The causal salty way of life imprinted deeply on Georgia and was a huge reason why she felt immediately at home here in Sausalito. After the move to 426 Pine and the birth of their oldest son Zephyr, Georgia left her job as an engineer at Slack Technologies in 2018 to become a full-time mom and community builder.

Georgia is heavily involved with local community initiatives; she sits on the board of the Sausalito Youth Sailing Foundation providing need-based sailing and boating education scholarships to kids, she sits on the board of the Sausalito Yacht Club as the Sail Training Chair overseeing SYC’s junior sailing programs, and she is a member of the Sausalito Woman’s Club.  Georgia has been the President of Sausalito Nursery School, one of our country’s oldest community preschool co-operatives, and still sits on the board as vice President. She is also the founder of Sausalito Mamas, a group aimed at bringing a sense of community to young moms with the 94965 zip code. In her free time, Georgia enjoys Ashtanga yoga at Cloudbreak yoga, cycling, running, reading, and learning.

The Kids!

Zephyr is 5 years old. He graduated from Sausalito Nursery School in June and will start Kindergarten at Dr. MLK Academy in August with several of his preschool classmates. Zephyr loves: swimming with all his buds at  Sausalito Yacht Club’s summer sailing camp, playing the drums and spouting obscure animal facts.

Daphne is 4 years old. She will be in the pre-k class at Sausalito Nursery School this fall and will attend T-K at Dr. MLK Academy next year. Daphne loves: riding her bike around town, playing dress up and Driver’s Market soft serve ice cream  with rainbow sprinkles.

Phoebe is 1 year old! A future student of both Sausalito Nursery School and Dr. MLK Academy, Phoebe loves: eating sand at schoonmaker beach, squeaking at dogs and seagulls, and riding around town on the back of mom’s e-bike.
